About Taekwondo West
Taekwondo West
was founded by Master Brandon Saltz, fourth degree black belt. Master
Saltz is
a national poomse champion and co-author of the highly respected book Taekwondo:
The State of the Art (click
here). Master Saltz is assisted full-time by his
wife, Sallie Sills, a second degree black belt.
Since opening
in 2000, we have
taught martial arts to hundreds of students ranging in age from 4
to 54 (and climbing!) and have guided students to medals at elite
levels of national and international competition. Our philosophy of
martial arts is based on the principles of courtesy, integrity,
perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. We believe that all
students, of whatever age or athletic ability, are capable of great
achievement. It is our mission to give all students the opportunity to discover their true potential,
whether as recreational martial artists, self defense practitioners or
elite level competitors striving to make the Olympic podium.
Before moving
to Montana, Master Saltz and Ms. Sills were instructors at West Side Taekwondo
in New York City. Master Saltz also ran several after-school and summer
taekwondo
programs in Manhattan and the Bronx.
Taekwondo West
is a member of USA Taekwondo, Inc.,
the national governing body for Olympic Taekwondo, and is affiliated
with Montana Taekwondo Association.
